Professional Identity Verification

TaskerElevate applies a progressive and proportionate identity verification approach to maintain trust, reduce misuse, and protect both clients and professionals.

Verification requirements vary depending on how the platform is used and the level of trust or access requested.
Government-issued identification is not required at sign-up, but may be requested at later stages.

Why Identity Verification Exists

Identity verification helps TaskerElevate to:

  • Reduce fraudulent or misleading accounts
  • Deter repeat abuse and impersonation
  • Protect clients engaging professionals
  • Support safe payments and dispute handling
  • Maintain platform integrity as the marketplace grows

Verification is designed to balance user privacy, platform safety, and fair access.

Our Layered Verification Model

1. Basic Account Verification (All Users)

At account creation, professionals are required to complete basic verification, which may include:

  • Email address verification
  • Phone number verification
  • Profile completeness and consistency checks
  • Automated account integrity checks

This level allows users to:

  • Create profiles
  • Browse requests
  • Submit proposals
  • Communicate on the platform

No government-issued identification is required at this stage.

2. Professional Verification (Verified Proβ„’ – Optional)

Professionals may choose to complete enhanced professional verification to improve visibility and trust.

This may include:

  • Review of professional profiles and experience
  • Review of linked professional accounts (such as LinkedIn)
  • Review of uploaded certifications or qualifications
  • Portfolio or work sample validation

Verified Proβ„’ status indicates that professional information has been reviewed by the platform.
It does not represent licensing, certification, or government approval.

Government-issued identification is not mandatory for Verified Proβ„’.

3. Identity-Verified Professional (Conditional)

In certain circumstances, TaskerElevate may require government-issued photo identification before allowing continued access to specific features.

This may include:

  • Passport
  • Australian driver licence

Identity verification may be required when:

  • A professional engages in their first paid project
  • Access to high-value or enterprise projects is requested
  • Payment release, escrow, or dispute handling is involved
  • Suspicious behaviour or risk indicators are detected
  • Repeated reports or policy concerns arise
  • Enhanced platform exposure or ranking is requested

This step is designed to deter fraud and prevent repeat misuse, not to assess skills or qualifications.

What Identity Verification Does Not Mean

For clarity, identity verification on TaskerElevate:

  • is not a background or criminal history check
  • is not a police check
  • does not guarantee professional competence or outcomes
  • does not constitute government or regulatory endorsement

Clients should always assess professionals based on profiles, communication, experience, and reviews.

Data Handling & Privacy

Where government-issued identification is requested:

  • Verification is handled securely
  • Access is restricted to authorised personnel or trusted verification providers
  • Identification is used solely for identity confirmation and platform safety
  • Information is retained only as long as necessary

All identity information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Australian privacy laws.

Transparency Commitment

TaskerElevate will always:

  • Clearly communicate when identity verification is required
  • Explain why verification is requested
  • Apply verification consistently and proportionately

Our goal is to create a marketplace that is open, trusted, and safe, without unnecessary barriers.
